Board Members
The Board of Education of Southern California Regional Occupational Center (SoCal ROC) serves as the governing body responsible for ensuring that the organization fulfills its mission to prepare students for college, careers, and life through high-quality Career Technical Education (CTE).
As a Joint Powers Authority (JPA), SoCal ROC is governed by representatives appointed by its member school districts, as well as two Board Members-at-Large. The Board provides strategic oversight, establishes policy, approves the annual budget, and ensures fiscal accountability while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. Through its leadership, the Board safeguards the public trust and supports programs that are responsive to regional workforce needs and evolving industry standards.
Board members work collaboratively with the Superintendent to set a clear vision for SoCal ROC — one that emphasizes student success, equitable access, innovation, and strong partnerships with K–12 districts, postsecondary institutions, and industry. Decisions are guided by data, labor market information, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
The Board of Education conducts its business in accordance with the Brown Act to ensure transparency and public participation. Regular meetings are open to the public, and community input is welcomed as an essential part of responsible governance.
Through thoughtful leadership and shared commitment, the SoCal ROC Board of Education plays a critical role in advancing Career Technical Education opportunities that empower students and strengthen the regional economy.
