SoCal ROC

Southern California Regional Occupational Center (SoCal ROC) is a regional Career Technical Education (CTE) institution serving high school and adult learners across the South Bay and greater Los Angeles region. Founded in 1967, SoCal ROC has a long-standing history of preparing students with the technical skills, academic knowledge, and professional competencies needed to succeed in college, careers, and an evolving workforce.

A Regional Occupational Center (ROC) is a specialized public education entity designed to provide career-focused instruction that complements traditional school programs. ROCs operate in partnership with multiple school districts, allowing students to access advanced technical training, industry-standard equipment, and specialized instructors that individual districts may not be able to offer independently. This regional model expands opportunity, promotes efficiency, and aligns education with workforce needs.

SoCal ROC serves:

  • High school students getting a head-start on their future career or preparing for college

  • Adult learners seeking to upskill, reskill, or transition into new careers

  • Regional employers, through industry-aligned training that responds to local labor market demand

Programs span high-demand industry sectors and emphasize hands-on learning, real-world application, and career readiness. Students have opportunities to earn industry certifications, develop technical and employability skills, and explore clear pathways to postsecondary education, apprenticeships, military service, or direct entry into the workforce.

For more than five decades, SoCal ROC has remained committed to its core mission: connecting students to opportunity through high-quality Career Technical Education — preparing learners not only for their first job, but for long-term success in a rapidly changing world.
