Learn New Skills through Job Training at SoCal ROC this Summer

Registration is in progress for summer 2022 job training classes at Southern California Regional Occupational Center (SoCal ROC). The eight-week summer classes begin on July 5, 2022, and individuals are encouraged to enroll now by calling 310-224-4200 or visiting campus, located at 2300 Crenshaw Boulevard, Torrance, CA 90501.

SoCal ROC is fully accredited and serves both adult learners and local high school students. Training courses for in-demand careers are offered in a number of fields that can get students into good-paying jobs in as little as three to six months for some programs. This summer, courses will be offered in the following programs: Automotive Technician, General Electrician, Welding, Clinical Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting, Emergency Medical Technician, Medical Front Office, Sterile Processing Distribution Technician; and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning). Some courses require completion of prerequisites, so please inquire about prerequisites prior to enrollment.

The SoCal ROC Summer 2022 Class Schedule is available on the SoCal ROC website here: https://socalroc.com/offerings/catSchd_pdf/Tentative_Summer_Schedule_2022_042122.pdf

Summer course fees range between $250 and $1,100, plus additional material costs for some courses. Individuals with an annual income of $34,000 or less qualify for a 20 percent discount on course fees.

“It is gratifying to see students get hired after receiving their training at SoCal ROC,” said Atlas Helaire, SoCal ROC superintendent. “There is a difference between just having a job versus doing something for which you have a passion and can earn a good living. SoCal ROC’s programs and career pathways will provide you with quality educational experiences that will tap into your passion and open doors to exciting career opportunities.”

Current research indicates that many people are looking to change careers post-pandemic. According to a survey reported in Forbes magazine last year, one in four workers is preparing to switch jobs. SoCal ROC is the perfect place to train for a new career!
