This course is designed to familiarize students with ICD-10-CM. Students will gain an understanding about the history, organization and structure, see how ICD-10-CM compares to ICD-9-CM, explore changes chapter by chapter, and learn coding conventions and guidelines.

Prior to enrolling, all students must: • Provide proof of completing a basic Medical Billing course within the past 3 years or • Have related-industry experience with ICD-9-CM coding • Have an understanding of basic medical terminology • Be a high school senior or an adult • If an adult, provide proof of a HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA or GED (translated into English)
